Introduction

North Sumatra Province is one of the largest rice-producing regions in Indonesia, with rice being the most widely cultivated agricultural commodity. However, the uncertain climate conditions in this province make agriculture, especially rice plants, highly dependent on the weather. Climate factors such as air humidity, rainfall, sunlight duration, and temperature play a crucial role in rice growth and productivity. This study aims to analyze the climate impact on rice productivity in North Sumatra Province, using secondary data from 2012 to 2021.

Methodology

The data used in this study is secondary data, spanning 10 years from 2012 to 2021. The data analysis was carried out using a multiple linear regression test, assisted by the SPSS 25 application. The study aims to identify the significant climate factors that affect rice productivity in North Sumatra Province.

Results

The results of the study showed that simultaneously, climate factors have a significant influence on rice productivity. However, when viewed partially, only the humidity factor shows a significant impact on rice productivity, while other factors such as rainfall, sunlight duration, and temperature do not show significant effects.
