In the thesis entitled "Expression of the Role of Women's Caregiver Workers in Society", the authors explore various aspects that encourage women to Batak Toba to take the role of child caregivers, and how they express their identity and status in the surrounding environment. Their efforts to cover up the identity of this work reflect the conflict between tradition and economic reality. On the one hand, they are bound by cultural values that glorify the concept of "boru ni king", while on the other hand, the need to support the family forces them to find work outside the home.
