This surprising phenomenon has even been revealed that 10-year-old children have been positively indicated using drugs, which indicate a serious threat from the abuse of the substance. Seeing this situation, this research aims to describe parenting parents in anticipating the dangers of drug abuse among teenagers in Kampung Kubur.

Background of the Study

The issue of drug abuse among teenagers is a complex problem that requires a comprehensive approach. Many factors contribute to this problem, including peer pressure, family dynamics, and social environment. In Kampung Kubur, Medan Petisah District, the problem of drug abuse among teenagers has reached a concerning level. This research is descriptive qualitative, which was carried out in Kampung Kubur, Medan Petisah. The informants in this study were chosen using purposive sampling techniques, where the group specified became the main subject in this study.

Methodology

Data collection techniques involve descriptive data analysis with a qualitative approach, which includes the collection, management, presentation, and description of research results obtained from the field. The results of the study are expected to be concluded in the form of life stories that produce in-depth analysis. The informants in this study were chosen using purposive sampling techniques, where the group specified became the main subject in this study.

Results

From the results of the study, it was found that in educating children, there are five informants who apply various types of parenting. Informants I, II, III, IV, and V use different parenting variations, including democratic, authoritarian, and neglect parenting. Overall, field data shows that the dominant type of parenting is a democratic parenting combined with authoritarian parenting. This shows that parents in Kampung Kubur are trying to create a balanced environment between giving freedom and setting limits.
