Introduction

Morbesi-Besi leaves, derived from plants in the Rubiaceae family, have been widely recognized for their numerous health benefits. Conversely, the N-Hexane fraction and the remaining fraction showed a lower inhibitory activity than the two fractions, with a diameter of 22.7 mm inhibition for Staphylococcus epidermidis and 12.4 mm for propionibacterium acnes.

Phytochemical Screening

Testing phytochemical screening in ethanol extract shows the presence of steroid/triterpenoid compounds, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, antasquinone, and tannin. Meanwhile, the N-Hexane fraction identified contains steroid compounds and triterpenoids, which are supported by TLC results that show 5.9 stains after being sprayed with H2SO4 and 7 stains by spraying Liebermann-Burchard.
