The Influence of Entrepreneurial Skills and Business Environment on the Success of Ornamental Plants in Madirsan Tanjung Morawa

Introduction

The ornamental plant industry has been growing rapidly in recent years, with many entrepreneurs venturing into this field in search of lucrative opportunities. This study aims to determine the effect of entrepreneurial skills and the business environment on the success of ornamental plants in Madirsan Tanjung Morawa. The population in this study consisted of ornamental plant businesses operating in the area, with a total sample of 35 businesses chosen using purposive sampling techniques.

Methodology

The data collection methods used in this study include primary and secondary data, which are obtained through documentation and questionnaire distribution studies. This study uses an associative approach, where data analysis is carried out by multiple linear regression methods. The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the factors that contribute to the success of ornamental plant businesses in Madirsan Tanjung Morawa.

Results

The results of this study showed that the simultaneous entrepreneurial skills variables and business variables had a positive and significant influence on the success of ornamental plants in Madirsan Tanjung Morawa. Separately, the variable of entrepreneurial skills also has a positive and significant influence on the success of the ornamental plant business. In addition, the business environment variable shows positive and significant effects on the success of ornamental plants business.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that the business environment has a stronger influence compared to entrepreneurial skills on the success of ornamental plants in Madirsan Tanjung Morawa. This shows that external factors, such as market conditions, competition, and business regulation, play an important role in achieving business success. The influence of entrepreneurial skills on the success of ornamental plants can be seen from the ability of entrepreneurs in making decisions, adapting to market changes, and managing existing resources. Skills such as financial management, marketing, and product innovation are very crucial to increase business competitiveness.
