This study also involved pond farmers from three selected villages in Pangkalan Susu District as respondents.

Shrimp cultivation has made a substantial contribution to the local economy, but several challenges need to be considered. A simple linear correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between the characteristics of respondents (age, number of dependents, and business experience) with the amount of shrimp production. The results showed a positive relationship between these variables, with an elasticity coefficient value of 0.27 for age, 0.48 for dependents, and 0.36 for business experience. However, the educational variable has a weak relationship with the amount of production, with a coefficient of 0.06.
