In the partial test (T test), it was found that recruitment (X1) was the most dominant factor, with a tcount value of 2,879. This suggests that the effectiveness of recruitment is more influential on improving employee performance compared to development, which showed positive but insignificant effects.

Furthermore, the analysis of the coefficient of determination (R²) revealed an adjusted R² value of 22.4%. This means that employee work performance can be explained by the recruitment and development variable of 22.4%, while the remaining 77.6% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

The conclusion of this study confirms that a good recruitment system is very influential in improving employee work performance at PT. Medan's Tamarind. Although development is also important, the results show that the main focus needs to be given to the recruitment process to achieve more optimal performance results. Therefore, the company is advised to continue to improve and optimize the recruitment process to attract quality workforce, which in turn will contribute to increasing employee productivity and work performance as a whole.
