Analysis of the Implementation of the Integrated Puskesmas Recording and Reporting System (SP2TP) in Simalungun Regency in 2005

Background of the Study

Since 2005, the Indonesian Ministry of Health has implemented a Puskesmas Management Information System (SIMPUS) as an effort to meet the needs of data and information at the Puskesmas level. The Integrated Puskesmas Recording and Reporting System (SP2TP) is the main source of SIMPUS. However, based on research from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the use of SP2TP data is not optimal because of some obstacles in the system design. In Simalungun Regency, the application of SP2TP refers to the Decree of the Director General of Binkesmas No.590/BM/DJ/Info/V/96. Data shows that in 2004, only 55.51% of Puskesmas sent reports on time. In addition, 51.3% of the data is incomplete and the accuracy is questionable.

Research Methodology

This study analyzed the effect of input and process components on the effectiveness of the implementation of SP2TP in Simalungun Regency in 2005. This type of research is a survey with the *cross-sectional *approach. Data collection was carried out through structured interviews using questionnaires and direct observations. The data analysis is carried out in a univariate, bivariate, and multivariate using multiple linear regression analysis.

Knowledge and coordination are the most dominant sub-components in influencing the effectiveness of the implementation of SP2TP in Simalungun Regency.

This study has some limitations. Firstly, the study only focused on the implementation of SP2TP in Simalungun Regency in 2005. Secondly, the study only analyzed the effect of input and process components on the effectiveness of the implementation of SP2TP. Therefore, further studies are needed to explore other factors that influence the effectiveness of SP2TP.
